Alice Chen
Nice to meet you! When I’m not writing and doing student-like activities, you'll usually find me binging anime, playing video games, bumming around with friends and/or attempting to start going to the gym (this fails). I aspire to be either a serious investigative journalist or a more lighthearted new media reporter - think Buzzfeed or Kotaku. I've worked at The North Bay Nugget, one of the best print-focused community papers still standing, Benefits Canada, a pension and benefits trade magazine that is more fascinating than some would assume, Centennial College's community paper, The Observer, and various student publications like The Varsity, The Courier and The Underground. I'm currently the online editor for the latter.

With a passionate for telling fun and engaging stories, Giorgio Lee prides himself on not only being a great storyteller, but also being a hard working journalist-too hard sometimes. After spending a half a year working behind the scenes at Rogers TV, Giorgio knew that journalism was his path. In January 2017, Giorgio took a bus to Washington D.C to cover the International Women’s March for NOW Magazine-taking photos and interviewing activists in the march. Besides his trip to Washington, Giorgio has covered some of the provinces most high profile events including the, 2017 Invictus Games, Ottawa’s Remembrance Day ceremony, and the 2015 Canadian Federal election. When Giorgio is not traveling around the city chasing stories, he’s mastering his craft at Laser Quest, practicing for an upcoming tournament. You could call him the Yoda of laser tag, except with a larger frame and more head on his scalp.
Jordan Barrera
Jordan doesn’t usually like talking about himself so he’s going to make it quick. Jordan became interested in journalism when he hosted The Global Guelph, a radio show that highlighted the Canadian immigrant experience. After discovering himself he decided to apply for Centennial’s fast-track journalism program. He became interested in satire when he realized the world was pretty terrible. Since his natural reaction to uncomfortable situations is to let out a nervous laugh, satire was a perfect fit. He is currently an intern at CBC’s Marketplace.
